Hanka Jewsiewicka

A tough girl with a tender heart. A reporter, director and philanthropist. Hanka likes helping others but doesn’t like to talk about it. She has collaborated with UNICEF and the Polish Centre for International Aid in the past. She visited the poorest countries in Africa, in refugee asylums in Jordan and on the border of Syria in Lebanon. When asked “How was it?”, she rarely responds. She also often speaks her mind. Hanka and Martyna met five years ago. Together, the told the world many difficult stories of the women portrayed in the show WOMAN AT THE END OF THE WORLD, including on female genital mutilation in France, victims of human trafficking in Romania and the victims of the strictest ant-abortion laws in Salvador. Hanka has agoraphobia and a fear of heights but apart from that, there is nothing that scares her. Her list of places to see are topped with Yemen and Afghanistan. Apart from that she would like for people to be more tolerant, helpful and to want to share their resources with those who need them more. Why is she working at the Foundation? “The answer is easy! UNAWEZA! Because I can”, she told us and laughed. (And you should know her laugh is contagious! :-)
