Today is Father’s Day. It is a day of pride and joy for every man who has taken responsibility for the lives of their children, ensuring them safety and love. However, this is not always the case and many fathers leave their children and mothers without care or support. This is always difficult, but imagine what this is like for teenage mothers. Teenage girls who can’t count on the support of those close to them because they are orphans themselves, in correctional facilities, or from pathological families. When a teenager in Poland gives birth to a child, they can not care for them because they don’t have parental rights. The newborn could be sent to a foster family and the mother is left to fend for herself. She is often outcast, while her child is missing what it needs most from the very beginning – closeness and love from its parents, which can’t be replaced by anything else in the world.
Today, along with wonderful men and fathers, we would like to announce an important initiative! In the name of MALE SOLIDARITY AND MALE RESPONSIBILITY for all children, especially those who can’t count on their own fathers, we would like to speak loudly about this issue, because the issue is important. The UNAWEZA foundation is raising funds for the Home for Teenage and Newly Independent Mothers and Their Children.
This won’t be another institution, this will be a real HOME, in which these young girls will live, get care and learn what being a mother is. And they won’t stop going to school and will become vocationally trained.
EVERY GESTURE counts
Join us and pass it on!
