There are Single Mothers Homes in Poland. We want to BUILD A HOME FOR TEENAGE MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN.
In Poland, such an initiative is very needed, because there is a serious gap in our social support system. Sometimes, children of teenage mothers are taken from them! Formally, young girls cannot take care of a child alone. When a teenager gives birth to a child, she has no parental rights. Her family can take care of him. What if the girl comes from a pathological family or was thrown out of it because she became pregnant? Girls from an orphanage or a correctional facility also become mothers. Then the young mother COULD LOSE the CHILD placed in a foster family. Even if the mother declares her willingness to keep them and raise them. Her opinion in this situation might not be taken into account.
That's why we want to build a HOME for them! Thanks to this, teenage mothers will no longer have to fear that they will be separated from their child. Girls will receive professional help in preparing for the most difficult role in life - being a mother and helping them to become independent.
WE ARE GOING TO RAISE MONEY for this special goal. To start the investment, we need 500,000 zł. This is a large amount, but I believe that with your help, we will be able to raise it. Because it is in the SMALL GESTURES of a large number of people that the GREATEST STRENGTH always lies.
We don't want to create a soulless facility, we want to create a home. A REAL HOME. We want a maximum of 6 girls to live in it at one time, so that each of them has their own room with a bathroom and a small room for their child. In addition, there will be common areas: a kitchen, a living room, a place for caretakers, a laundry room and a warehouse. The house is being built in Warsaw, but it will accept girls from all over Poland.
The UNAWEZA foundation is the partner of this initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Po DRUGIE foundation, which works in Warsaw with youth and young adults at risk of social exclusion.
