Carolina Villegas is one of the mentees from the UNAWEZA Foundation, a pepenadora, or garbage collector from Colonia Escalerillas in Mexico.

Until a few months ago, she saw her chance for a better life in "good rubbish". Thanks to a meeting with Martyna and the help of the UNAWEZA Foundation, she has a chance to break out of the dump.

Carolina Villegas is the main character of one of the episodes of the 11th season of the program "WOMAN AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD" (premiere on October 6th at 11:00 on TVN).

In the fall, thanks to the support of the UNAWEZA Foundation, Carolina will start a five-module styling course. She will learn, among others hairdressing, make-up, pedicure, and make-up for weddings and events. As part of the aid program, thanks to which we will pay school fees, Carolina will also be able to take advantage of funds for transport and a scholarship that will allow her to support herself and her child without having to work in the dump.

In the future, we also intend to help other women from the Colonia Escalerillas landfill.

A fundraiser for this purpose has just begun on our website. Everyone can join her and contribute to a better life for Carolina, her son and other women from the Colonia Escalerillas dump.
